WE PUT ADVANCED DENTAL TECHNOLOGY TO WORK FOR YOU

We're on the cutting edge of science and art here at Aviara Centers, where you come to get real answers to heal nagging pain and rid your life of dysfunction.

DIGITAL CBCT

Digital CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) is the gold standard in treatment planning. It allows us to get a full 3D scan of your teeth, jaws, and airways right out of the gate, so our dentists can evaluate your full smile and create the best procedure for you. We can also not only see the outer structures of your tooth but take a “slice” at different levels and layers to get a better understanding of its inner workings. Compared to traditional radiography, modern CBCT technology allows us to use a minimal amount of radiation while achieving more accurate images and results.

DIGITAL INTRAORAL SCAN

Many dental offices use uncomfortable, gooey putty to make molds of patients’ smiles. However, with an intraoral scan, our dentists can get a comprehensive look at your smile by creating a real-time 3D impression of your mouth. The wand maps the ins and outs of your teeth, throat, jaw, joints, and nose for complete accuracy when planning your upcoming treatments. And best of all, you get to see your own smile up close and personal, so you better understand your dental needs and our dentists’ treatment plans.

DIGITAL INTRAORAL X-RAY

Intraoral X-rays are the most common type of dental X-ray. They allow our dentists to get a detailed look at your teeth and jaws to track their development and catch any current or expected issues early. However, by using digital X-rays, we can get an instant scan of your smile with less radiation required. The software used also allows us to compare your current smile with previous X-rays to track your current treatment’s progress.

DIGITAL CAMERA

When it comes to taking pictures of your smile, regular cameras don’t cut it. We use high-tech digital dental cameras so that we don’t just capture images of the inside of your mouth but your entire smile. This is especially helpful for tracking orthodontic treatment and jaw development.

DENTAL MICROSCOPE

Dental microscopes let our dentists go beyond the limits of regular dental cameras, digital X-rays, and scans for a closer view of your smile. With enhanced magnification, we can get even better accuracy and precision for understanding the intricacies of your unique smile. In turn, this helps us diagnose and treat your dental problems better. Dental microscope technology also works alongside our digital cameras for better imaging and documentation.

T-SCAN DIGITAL BITE ANALYSIS

Traditionally, orthodontists would use special articulating paper to record patients bites. However, these only allowed these dentists to see the placement of patients’ bites, and there were a lot of gaps requiring guesswork. Our digital T-Scan technology helps us to more accurately and precisely analyze and assess patients’ bites through measuring both your bite force and timing. We can compare these digital bite records over the course of your treatment to understand and track your current orthodontic progress. From there, we can easily make any adjustments as necessary for your best and healthiest smile.

JOINT VIBRATION ANALYSIS

Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA) is at the forefront of TMJ assessment and diagnosis. When the jaw joints are healthy and aligned, they produce a low level of friction and vibration as the sliding hinge of the discs slide open and closed. However, misaligned and damaged joints create more friction and vibrations. With JVA’s sensors, our specialists can accurately understand the precise movements of your jaws’ joints in a 4-dimensional space. With thorough and proper analysis, we can diagnose our patients’ specific TMJ issues and create the best treatment plan that matches their specific needs.

MLS LASER

MLS (Multiwave Locked System) laser therapy is the new frontier for pain management and faster treatment recovery. This innovative and safe laser technology creates soft pulses of light at sites where there is pain, inflammation, swelling, or wounds. This stimulates blood flow and stops fluid buildup in the soft tissues, promoting better healing and pain relief. MLS lasers are great for both TMJ and body myofascial treatment, allowing you to say goodbye to chronic pain. They can also help your smile heal faster after oral surgery.

LIGHTSCALPEL CO2 LASER

Rather than relying on scalpels, our office uses a LightScalpel CO2 laser for suture-less frenectomies, such as lip tie and tongue tie release. Not only does this prevent bleeding and post-treatment infections, but the entire process is made quicker and more precise. In many cases, our dentists can complete it in less than 10 seconds. Laser therapy also promotes cell regeneration, so your child recovers faster and more effectively.

PHARYNGOMETER

Our pharyngometer technology can noninvasively map the dimensions and structure of patients’ airways through an Airway Collapsibility Screening. This screening lets us test patients for compromised airways, which can lead to snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, and other disordered breathing issues. We can see where and how your upper respiratory system is obstructed or compromised and design your treatment plan if needed. Depending on the results, we can accurately assess whether patients will need a custom sleep apnea guard with up to 95% accuracy. Pharyngometer technology also allows us to track how the airways change and adapt to mandibular advancement from mouth guards, orthodontics, and jaw surgery.

RHINOMETER

A rhinometer is used during your Nasal Breathing Screening to test your airways for any obstruction or compromise. It creates a short but powerful pulse of sound waves through your nasal cavity to map the location and severity of any airway obstructions. It is entirely noninvasive and can be finished in just 30 seconds.
